Thermoscanning

Electrical faults rarely happen out of nowhere. Most of the time there are warning signs — hot connections, overloaded circuits, degraded components — that build heat well before something fails. Thermoscanning uses infrared thermal imaging to catch those issues while your gear is still running, so you can plan the fix on your terms rather than in the middle of an unplanned shutdown.

Barcam Electrical delivers thermoscanning across commercial and industrial sites throughout the Mackay region — from single switchboards through to full-site preventive maintenance programs.

When you might need thermoscanning

  • You've had unexplained trips, outages or breakers running warm

  • Your insurer or compliance program requires periodic thermal surveys

  • You're inheriting a site and want a baseline condition report

  • You've never had one done and want to know what state your infrastructure is in

  • You run continuous operations and can't afford unplanned downtime

  • You want to schedule preventive maintenance based on evidence, not guesswork

What we do

Our licensed team surveys your electrical infrastructure using calibrated thermal imaging equipment, capturing images of switchboards, distribution boards, connections, motors, drives and other key components under normal operating load. We interpret the results, flag anything hot enough to be a concern, and give you a clear written report that includes:

  • Thermal and visible-light images of each area surveyed

  • Temperature differentials and severity ratings

  • Root-cause commentary where possible

  • Prioritised recommendations for remedial work

  • A record you can hand to your insurer, certifier or maintenance team

Where minor issues can be safely addressed on the day, we'll do it. For larger works, we'll come back to you with a scoped quote so you can plan the outage.
